Danny Barker – Save The Bones (LP Vinyl)

$36.95

Danny Barker spent decades as a foundational figure in New Orleans jazz, playing rhythm guitar alongside the likes of Cab Calloway and Lucky Millinder before returning home to help spark the city's brass band revival. Hearing him solo and unaccompanied, with nothing between the listener and 79 years of living, is a rare and direct line to a tradition that shaped American music.

Danny Barker rose to prominence during the 30's and 40's while performing on more than 1000 recordings. On this definitive record, made when he was 79 years old, Barker is heard singing and playing guitar unaccompanied on a variety of standards and obscurities.
