Genesis – Abacab

Abacab landed in 1981 as Genesis completed their full pivot toward sleek, radio-friendly pop rock, leaving behind nearly all traces of the prog architecture that defined their earlier work. Phil Collins, Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford had stripped the sound down to its commercial core, and the title track's restless, choppy groove showed a band deliberately unlearning old habits. For collectors, this 180-gram pressing brings that crisp, dry production back to the format where it still sounds most alive.
